Review of Group B's action

It was going to be a split-vote between England and Sweden right from the start. Both teams had equally strong team members and both teams has a Swedish coach. Trinidad and Tobago (Trinidad) and Paraguay never stood a chance anyway.

The results of the group's games:

England 1 - 0 Paraguay
Trinidad 0 - 0 Sweden
England 2 - 0 Trinidad
Sweden 1 - 0 Paraguay
England 2 - 2 Sweden
Trinidad 2 - 0 Paraguay

In the end, it was the Trinidad game that killed Sweden's hopes and resulted in them taking up second position behind England. The Sweden, England game drew 2 - 2 and delivered on of the best goals of the soccer world cup. England will now take on Equador on Sunday June 25 and Sweden will play the hosts, Germany on Saturday June 24.

Your one-stop World Cup Info Site

Or something like that...

At the
Golden Riviera Group Casino's we are giving our players a full World Cup update service. This has become a major success, especially the predict the score competition. We have had over 10,000 entries so far. Players can win $50 by predicting the correct score of the matches. On the site you can get all the fixtures, group standings, game results and a fun free game.

I've been so swammed getting all the predictions in, that I have just not got round to blogging about all the matches. I did watch the England vs Paraguay and enjoyed seeing Beckam and the boys taking on the South Americans, but more about that in my next blog entry.

World Cup Coverage: The TV has been approved!

The TV has been approved! It took me a while, but the boss finally gave us permission to have a TV in the office to watch the high profile games. That will mean that I can update my blogs live! And the TV will be in my office.

So here is the plan: Everybody wheel their chairs in to the office while I sit with my notebook on my lap and type the highlights up. I will update the posts after every half. I will report on the guys in the office's view of the game: play by play. An added feature will be the comments of the guys in the office. I know that a big portion of the company is patriotic Spangled Banner fans, leaving the rest to spread around European, South American and African fans... and let us not forget about our one lone Japanese supporter! It will be so cool.

I'll be the first to admit that I go 'boiling' when I'm looking forward to a Teevo'ed game that I have not yet watched and some smuck goes and tell me the score. Hence the big rally by theguys to get the TV. If you do not believe that English soccer hooliganism exists; you should have seen the English supporters in this office: They were ready with a revolt if we did not get the TV!

Alls well that ends well, right? The countdown is on: 8 days to go...
